Two cell connections, both Priority one

The configuration we have been using with our MAX HD2 routers, is one cell connection Priority one, and one cell connection Priority two. In that configuration, the Priority one connection shows as Connected, and the Priority two as Standby. If we make both connections Priority one, both connections show as Connected. My question is how does the Pepwave behave differently when one connection is Connected and one is Standby, versus when both connections are Connected?

Thank you,
Josh

Hello Josh,

When using two connections the HD2 can load balance and utilize both WANs, this can also depend on any Outbound Policies that you may have in place. If you have only one WAN up with the other in Standby, the WAN in standby won’t be used unless the WAN in Priority 1 goes down.

Some people use more than one WAN to spread out the data usage over two more more data plans.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Zach
