Surf Soho Firmware 7.1.1 and Netgear 341U

I have tried multiple times to update the firmware on my Surf Soho to 7.1.1 but after doing so my Netgear 341U never connects to sprint. After the upgrade the status sits at “Recognizing Device” for quite a while then connecting. I let it sit for 20 minutes bet it never connected. After downgrading the firmware it immediately connected. Are there settings that need adjusted with the 7.1.1 or is the device not compatible?
