Speedfusion IP Passthrough

Hi folks,

The install for our fibre connection into our building has been delayed a few weeks and we are currently using a Peplink BR2 Pro as a temporary measure to get internet.

Right now, we are configuring our firewall and servers and need a public IP for the firewall. The BR2 is bonding two 5G connections together back to a self-hosted instance of Fusionhub.

Is there any way to enable something like IP passthrough for speedfusion so bonding is done inside the BR2 and gives the firewall the public IP of the fusionhub server? Ideally we would like to bypass the 192.168.50.0 subnet of the peplink and provide our firewall with a static public IP through speedfusion.

Not quite sure if this is possible.

Thanks

Yes there can be depending on where you have the Fusionhub hosted and what that host allows.

I do public IP pass through on Vultr quite a lot which requires the use of an additional ‘floating IP’ from them to passthrough and some gentle twisting of routing principles at the remote Peplink end.

However, it would be much easier and cleaner just to do 1:1 NAT between the private 192.168.50.x address your Firewall gets given and the public IP on the Fusionhub…

Thanks for the reply Martin.

I am hosting FusionHub myself and have other public IP’s available.

Could you explain the 1:1 NAT? I’m a bit unfamiliar with this level of networking.

Thanks
