SNMPwalk pull full LAN description instead of STRING "LAN 1"

We have a few partners who would like to see full descriptions on their LAN connections when using SNMPwalk.

When you run SNMPwalk the WANs pull the full Name/description, such as STRING: "Starlink 1 Main Base {KITXXXXXXXX}

Whereas the LAN connections display STRING: “LANX” only

I believe all that would be needed is to have the SNMP pull the values in the Port ID Name field. But open to all ideas. I have opened and confirmed this is a feature request on Ticket 24080538

Yes the ability to put a description on a LAN port is needed. This should be a standard thing to be able to do.

Yup. We are reviewing this and shall get back to you on the request. At the moment, I don’t see why we cannot make this happen and the request is reasonable to proceed. Stay tuned.

Yes I second this. Would be a great feature to have since we have a lot of dependencies from a graphing perspective on the LAN/Customer facing interfaces.
