Hey Ben, Are you using a Netgear PoE switch at all? I’m still trying to narrow down what the commonalities are between sites (we have over 100 peplinks in the field). I’ve so far only see this with Netgear switches, but it could be a coincidense. No fix for us yet. Only seems to happen every 3 - 6 weeks here as well.
For anyone searching for the answer for this, turn off “Terminate Sessions on Connection Recovery” in your outbound policy. We did this for 50 of our routers and they all stopped exhibiting this behavior.
@sitloongs - Frankly I don’t appreciate these forums. I find that a lot of the issues we have, when we come to these forums they end in peplink staff saying “submit a ticket” and the forum stops there. That doesn’t help the community at all when you take issues offline as we’re not able to see the resolution. In this particular case, I DID submit a ticket and Peplink staff were unable to resolve my issue. I had to fix it myself and then remember to come back here to post my findings so that someone else in our shoes won’t have to go through the pain we did!
Very sorry for this because we make you feel that “submit a ticket” mean take the issue offline. The main reason why we request to submit a ticket is that we would like “Support Engineer” to check on it so that we can narrow down the issue
. Also, if you feel your issue is not solve or having any new findings , you can post it in the forum to get more opinion.
Really appreciate your effort for this. If everyone can feedback the findings and solution, i think it will benefits to all
.
I think the main benefits is for tracking purposes. I sure they have hundreds or more tickets on the go and having a ticketing system helps them triage and assign and track to completion. Unfortunately in your case they couldn’t solve it.
They can’t really share ticket content either, as it most likely will contain sensitive information.
But as a customer, it helps posting back the solution for the benefit of all, as you did.
I do understand that - It’s just frustrating as I’ve seen multiple things on this forum where I’ve come with a problem, to find a post that has the exact same problem, to go to the end and see “Submit a ticket” and the post stops there.
