SIM Injector (Mini) remote sim scenarios

Hello,

So let’s say we have the following setup:

  • 1 SIM Injector Mini (both sim cards, connected to BR2 via LAN port)
  • 1 SIM Card (Country A)
  • 1 SIM Card (Country B)
  • 1 Peplink Max BR2 Pro (inside a car)
  • 1 Peplink Balance 310X (in a fixed location office in country A)
  • BR2 Pro connected via speedfusion vpn to Balance 310X

Scenario 1

  • Car in Country A

I know I can use the sim card A for the cellular WAN in BR2 Pro (local) and also for Balance 310X (remote via speedfusion vpn).

For Balance 310X, what if the Cellular WAN is working ok and I cut the power of BR2 Pro (with the atttached sim injector mini), will the cellular wan on the balance 310x be affected?
So does it require a permanent connection to the sim injector? or only for the initial setup?

Scenario 2

  • Car in Country B

Can I use SIM Card A to inside cellular WAN of Balance 310X and would it be recognized as a local to country A? (since the br2 pro + injector is in the car in country B)
So does the current location of the sim card is relative to the location of antenna or location of the sim injector? because it’s relevant if it’s in roaming or local

Hi!

Scenario 1
In short (from my experience) disconnecting the SIM Injector will work, but only for a while - pretty sure it can stay on for a while, but would not work after a power cycle or anything that would trigger a SIM check.

Scenario 2
The device loading the SIM would be the one where country restrictions/limitations etc… would apply. You could technically have the SIM injector in Fiji and the router in Germany (if it was all configured to do so, using either FusionSIM or remote SIM agent).
