Hi!
We are planning to buy Balance 310-5G for our livestreaming studio steup. I have following questions for which I can’t seem to find answers in the product documentation:
- This model has 1 Ethernet WAN port, 1 USB WAN port and 2 5G WAN ports. We are planning to have 12 studios which will upload about 280Mbps in 46 uplink streams and will download about 261Mbps in 47 downlink streams. All 12 studios will be uploading live content being filmed in the studio. - With 600Mbps of bonded throughput, will this device be sufficient for our purpose?
- We are planning to use 3 different 1:1 Leased lines from 3 different ISPs to provide for failover. All 3 will connect using ethernet. Can I connect all 3 to this device using the single Ethernet port? Do I need to buy virtual WAN licenses or the existing 4 WAN licenses which are part of the product sufficient?
- For the 5G modems, the device comes with antennas and cables. Since cable length is limited, should I install the antennas inside our server room OR should I buy extended cables and install them outdoors?
- Also, I have heard that Peplink uses DigitalOcean for its hosted FusionHub and that the quality is not good enough. Some people recommend that we should host our own FusionHub on AWS if we want proper throughput. Does anyone have any experience / wisdom to share on this?
- If we want to have redundancy, should we buy 2 numbers of 310-5G boxes and connect in VRRP? In my understanding VRRP is an Active-Passive hot failover system. Is it possible to use it in Active-Active mode with load balancing with hot failover? In failover scenarios, how long does it take for other device to take over and what kind of interruption will the users experience?
- This device comes with PrimeCare. How useful is PrimeCare Plus? Can one do an upgrade to PrimeCare Plus?
- Does Peplink have its own Support setup in India? How does one contact them?
Thanks guys for being there and sharing your experience and wisdom.
