Product Code / SKU Explanation (End User Version)

Maybe at some point you’ve seen our SKUs on our eStore or our datasheets and thought to yourself, what does any of this mean?! Why don’t we take a closer look and see if we can’t make sense of it.

Here’s the SKU of our Transit Pro. Let’s use it as an example. This jumble of letters might look intimidating, but in actuality it’s pretty simple if we break it down.

Major Category - MAX
The Major Category of the device is the MAX series, meaning this device belongs to our MAX series line of products. Other frequently seen codes in this slot can be BPL which stands for Balance and ANT which stands for Antenna.

Product Series - TST-Pro
TST-Pro stands for Transit Pro, which is the name of the model. You’ll find the name of the model or a shortened version of it in this slot, Such as the BR1-Mini, HD1-Dome or HD4-MBX.

In this case, DUO stands for its dual cellular radio within the device. If it’s a MAX series device and you see any numbers in this part of the SKU, that signifies the number of cellular modems in the device. Take for example, the MAX BR2 has 2 modems while the MAX HD4 has 4.

These two sections are the most important part of the SKU, and are the easiest to understand.

Cellular Module - LTEA-R
LTEA-R stands for the cellular module in the device. You can find a list of all the applicable regions and bands for the different modules here.

But don’t worry if this seems too complicated. We list the category of the device alongside the SKU for easy reference, such as CAT-4, CAT-12 or CAT-20. A general guideline for modem categories is, the higher the category, the faster the device.

Antenna - T
The T shows signifies that antennas come included with the device. If you don’t see a -T in the SKU, then an external antenna may be needed for the deployment.

PrimeCare - PRM
Finally PRM stands for PrimeCare. If this is found in the SKU, that means the device falls under our PrimeCare system. Devices that aren’t under PrimeCare will require EssentialCare for warranty extensions.

Hopefully that gives you a general idea of how to read our SKUs. If you have any questions about your device or its corresponding SKU, contact one of our certified partners for help.
