but a very important additional number is still missing: eSim remaining data.
I havent checked InControl yet, but my B One 5G (just set it up) has remaining eSIM data displayed on the dashboard.

I just checked and there is indeed a change. Previously all our Peplinks were showing just the quota as when they were purchased. All used to say â20 GBâ in eSim Quota column but as of now there are various numbers that seem to be indicative of much of the quota is leftâŚbut many still show 20GB even though they have used data⌠If that is what the column is for and eventually it will be trustworthy, thatâs great. But we still need a reasonable basic shared pool plan (something a lot less than $2,000/year)
To add to the eSIM settings improvement, Id like the ability to switch carriers that actually works. I just setup a new B One 5G and it only works on auto and connects to TMobile
When i change to manual selection, do a scan, then select either AT&T or Verizon (both have excellent 5G signal here) the eSIM never connects to the tower.
FYI- I am in California and I have connected other devices(including a B20x) to both Verizon and AT&T 5G networks in the same spot my B One 5G is at so i know itâs available and working.
I just posted an update on that other thread. My new B One 5G is getting the DL/UL speeds it should be getting on my cable modem connection and has the same setup as my previous B20x that was having bufferbloat issues so I now know it was definitely the B20x and not the cable modem circuit.
Note: weâve always been able to click on each device to get to its individual dashboard to see the remaining data. But thatâs a lot of clicks. Also: it would be cool to have an alert on X% remainingâŚ
That should be available on the individual device. I have it setup on my devices (B20x) for years now. perhaps youre asking for this to be available in InControlâŚ
The B One 5G i just setup has the option as well. I tested it w/ eSIM and it works.
Sound interestingâŚbut I canât see it on my B One 5Gâs! The best would be in Incontrol but where is it in the device itself?
You can find it in 2 places. Either open cellular from the dashboard tab or cellular under network>WAN.
scroll down to âBandwidth Allowance Monitorâ row under the correct SIM (for eSIM you may have to scroll to the right).
The options for it are under the rows following that.
If you need screenshots let me know.
OKâŚIâve seen that but its not what Iâm talking about. Alerting on âMonthly Allowanceâ is not helpful for us. Peplink sells eSIMs for Xgb (we usually get the basic 20gb) for 1 year: whatever happens first. The built in monitoring and alerting feature doesnât know anything about packet overhead (it says so) and also the eSIM purchased for that unit. So that email alert is not useful for this without a lot of maintenance. Peplink sells the eSIMâs: they should monitor and alert so that we know when to buy more or when its going to expire for the primary link fails and you find that the backup has expired! Or better yet sell an affordable bundle. If Peplink canât do this, maybe sellers of third party data only eSIMâs do?
We are aware of this and are currently working on a solution.
A correction to my earlier post: the âPeplink eSIM quotaâ now shows different numbers for our devices but its just the âstartâ number. For example: we had several units for which we had purchased 20gb/1year eSIMS during the last year. They all had lots of data remaining (as they are just used for backup of the primary WAN links) but were nearing the end of their year. The new amount and new expiring date (after purchasing another 20gb/1year for them) is now reflected: both the data (20 gigs plus whatever was left) and expiring date (1 year plus what ever was left.) That is all helpful data but it still doesnât show how much data is actually left at this moment. Iâm glad that Peplink is aware and is apparently going to add this information.
Or any logging for the DDoS feature.
Logging of DNS requests from LAN as well
