We have a property who is experiencing an influx of Copyright Infringment notices from its network users. We have configured the “Firewall/Content Blocking” menu to block applications “Bittorrent” & “eMule/eDonkey”.
This results in not all torrent requests being blocked as we still received additional Copyright infringement notices.
We then enabled blocking for applications “All Supported File Sharing / Transfer applications” and while the copyright infringement notices stopped, we received support calls from users who were not able to access streaming sites such as Netflix, Hulu & YouTube.
We want to know the technology behind application blocking and how the Peplink decides what is blocked and what isnt.
