Peplink 20

Hello,

I’m writing cause I’ve an issue on 2 Balance-20 installed in 2 customers sites.
Suddenly it seems that SNMP protocol is not working anymore cause we don’t receive SNMP data anymore.
We are able to login, view and change any setting, and the unit is working fine according to the users.
We removed any SNMP settings and reinsterted them, and rebooted the unit but the problem is still there.

Can you help us?

thanks a lot!

Please make sure you are on 6.3.x firmware and then you can download the MIB from our site:

Thanks.

I can do that, but the problem is on 2 units with 6.2.1 firmware, and they suddenly stopped answering SNMP calls.
We’re monitoring them with PRTG, that didn’t need any external MIB in order to check the units.

Best regards!

I’ve done that, imported MIB in PRTG, but when trying to use it attached to my devices, PRTG says “No response (check: firewalls, routing, snmp settings of device, IPs, SNMP version, community, passwords etc)”, as the device does not answer on SNMP service.

Best regards!

Can you share a graphical diagram to show how the two Balance 20 connected to the PRTG? Please involved the devices (e.g. firewall, IPS) in between Balance 20 and PRTG if any.

Thank you.

Hello,

We discovered that the problem was connected to WAN ACLs. In older releases SNMP was opened to any, now is processed by ACLs, so we needed to add the SNMP IP address inside the box asking for authorized public IPs that once were for just http-https.

Best regards!

Are you referring to this setting restrict the SNMP pulling?

Yes, that form restricts SNMP access also.

best regards!

This is not the expected behavior. I reported this to engineering team to look for the fixed. Please add the remote IP address here to allow SNMP access for the time being.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
