OpenVPN WAN hidden/missing reports

I just discovered that the OpenVPN WAN licence was a thing, so I bought a licence.

When I first got a box which could connect via OpenVPN, I looked all over for a way to enable this functionality (as in I wanted to be able to direct to the Open VPN connection via outbound policy, I didn’t want all traffic going that way).

You missed an opportunity to sell me the licence a couple of years ago, and made me think your implementation was broken. It was only when I happened to be browsing what licenses I could get for my new box I discovered this was a thing.

This should really be advertised in the UI in big letters, “you can enable OpenVPN WAN functionality.”

Now I have it working, I can’t find any status for the connection. I’m wanting to know how much data has gone down the OpenVPN connection. The obvious place is the Status:"Usage Reports. While it does show up under real time, it’s not shown under the Hourly, Daily. Where as the “OpenVPN” status just shows the connection I never use because it was not connected to the outbound policy.

Not ideal, but assuming your OpenVPN WAN clients are tied to a VLAN, you could click the link on the monthly report to view a report by client, and then sort by IP - then sum up traffic for each client on the appropriate network. But yes - I agree that it should be easier to have it show up as a separate option on the WAN list.

See below - all my IOT devices are on the .53 network, with outbound policy for all traffic on the net to go out over OpenVPN WAN.
