I am really thankful and excited about OpenVPN being a part of firmware 8.0 . After installing the beta, I do have a request to be able to edit some options, particularly the listening port and protocol (TCP/UDP/both). I have switched from L2TP to OpenVPN mostly because of how easy it is for L2TP to be firewalled in random outside networks, but OpenVPN allows for listening on (almost) always-open ports like 80 and 443 making it a more reliable solution. Less critical but useful, I’d like to be able to select between bridge mode (making clients that connect a part of an existing subnet, or assigning a separate subnet to all remote clients).
