Is it possible to configure a Max BR1 Pro 5G to pass traffic via Open VPN to a TP Link router acting as an Open VPN server? My objective is to route certain of the Pepwave traffic to the internet through my home router. I’ve tried playing with this without success but am way over my head so am looking for help. Here’s what I’ve done:
On the TP Link router:
- Set up dynamic DNS
- Activated Open VPN server using dynamic DNS
- Created a certificate
- Downloaded the OpenVPN configuration file.
On the Pepwave router:
- Activated Open VPN
- Loaded configuration file
I was then hoping that I could check my IP address on the Pepwave and see that it was that of the TP Link, but it had lost the ability to resolve addresses. I think I could ping IP addresses but none would resolve, suggesting that whatever I did had killed the DNS lookup capability.
I’m way out of my league here, so any suggestions would be appreciated! (assuming that this task is, in fact, even achievable!)
