Newbie DNS question

Hi, I have a Pepwave SOHO MK3 and I’m interested in using Cloudflare’s new DNS Resolver at 1.1.1.1.

I have configured Cloudflare’s DNS addresses (4 in total) in the MK3 router, and the info displayed through the admin interface show’s that part works. I’d also like the DNS traffic to be private (something Cloudflare seems to be advertising), so I expect there should be at least a second step in which I tell the MK3 which protocol (HTTPS?) to use for the DNS traffic, but my networking knowledge is too limited to get me there. So, my question is: is there a way to do this now? If not, is this something the developers at Peplink/PepWave would consider as an update to the firmware?

I have searched the forum, but did not find any information on this topic, so I hope I’m not duplicating another discussion.

DNS over https is not supported at the moment - but I think it would be a nice addition.

I would definitely love DNS query encryption as well.
