Network Selection

HD4 with two identical Vodafone Spain cards, roaming in France Simm1 always connects to SFR, Simm2 to Orange or Bytel.
Is this deliberate behavior in order to provide redundancy should one network go down?
I can force Simm2 onto SFR if I select network manually but on Auto it always chooses Orange or Bytel?

No. Network selection is based on SIM steering, signal availability and strength.
If you force both onto the same provider what signal readings do you get from both modems?

There is a big difference in signal strength probably because antenna’s are either side of a large carbon fibre mast so one side likely does not have clear line of site.

Very good, so that’s likely the cause of the discrepancy.

Carbon Fibre is a nightmare for RF!
Not so bad when it’s just the mast and your signal has got a blind spot (not much different to an alloy mast). Have done an install on a 35m carbon fibre hull yacht and had to put an AP in each space - 13 APs on a 35m SY…
