Hello Peplink experts,
I have small network based on a Balance 20x and 2 Peplink AP One AX Lite APs. It is currently setup to use cellular as a backup WAN connection, but there are also public WiFi hotspots within reach, so I thought I would also enable a WiFi-WAN link as a backup option, now that 8.3.0 supports it on the 20x.
My balance 20x has a PRM SKU, so it came with one year of PrimeCare included (only been 6 months so far) so I thought I should see the WiFi-WAN option come up after upgrading to 8.3.0, but it is not. I am guessing my PrimeCare has not been activated because I have not enabled IC2 as I did not need it so far. But maybe it is something else?
So the question is: do you need to enable IC2 to enable PrimeCare? If not, how to I enable/check on the status of my Primecare, in order to activate the WiFi-WAN option?
Thank you for the explanation @WeiMing. I will try enabling IC2 in the “Controller Management Settings” tomorrow. I do not need to create an IC2 login, the balance 20x should sync even if I do not login, right?
Also after it syncs will it show me my PrimeCare status and expiration date on the router status page, or do I need to create an IC2 account to see that?
Thank you @WeiMing ! That worked, WiFi WAN is now available, just by enabling IC2 in the “Controller Management Settings”. It took a little time but it did show up :).
However, I still did not find how many days are left on my PrimeCare. Do you know where I can see how many days of PrimeCare are left for my balacnce20x?
Hi @peparn Apart from IC2, you can check the PrimeCare expiration date in the customer portal (Device Management) and you have to complete the product registration in advance. Log in the customer portal >> Device >> Register Device >> Fill in the blanks and save >> Done!
