MU-Mimo with Pepwave?

Do the peplink WAPs offer MU‑MIMO similar to Ubiquity: https://unifi-hd.ubnt.com/ ??

Not at the moment but this will eventually come down the road. Thanks

I don’t think MU-Mimo is a really big deal. First, you need WiFi clients that support it. Second, it is very directional. If two devices are both South of the router, it will not kick in. It requires one device to be South and the other North.

Agreed. However, it’s a necessary “big deal” and expected in high-end access points today. MU-MIMO is real, there ARE devices using it. Whether they are taking advantage of the full spatial stream potential is another story but to ignore the technology would be foolhardy IMHO.

Consumer routers compete based on having the most features and the biggest numbers on the box. They market themselves to a non techie audience. Peplink is not that. No WPS, for example.

That’s correct. Lack of WPS is a big plus in my book. As are clear and concise options to shut off both UPnP and NAT-PMP. It’s kind of understandable why the mass market consumer stuff includes all that and turns it on by default (and makes it difficult if not impossible to truly shut off). They don’t want the support calls.

Completely agree. UPnP is enabled by default on every consumer router that I have run across and, no doubt, it is done to avoid tech support calls. As a side effect, the rest of the world suffers. Then non-techies blame bad IoT security rather than the router.
