I notice that we can set MSS on Ethernet WAN interfaces but not the LAN. I have an IPsec VPN going over a single 4G LTE connection back to a Cisco ASA. Customer is experiencing problems with a voip application that sits on the desktop PC.
Now I realise that MSS will only affect TCP connections and adittedly I’m still troubleshooting this particular incident. But is there any consensus that being able to set MSS on the LAN would be of benefit?
I could change sysopt connection tcpmss 1380 on the ASA to 1310 or lower but that would affect more than this one remote site.
