MediaFast 750 and Mikrotik

Hi,

I need to know if balance mediafast 750 is suitable for a wisp or is it just for companies or schools?
I want to save bandwidth by caching pages like youtube, operating system update and antivirus,
I do not need to do load balancing because only have one internet connection.
Can Use mediafast solely for caching only?
I have a mikrotik router to manage all my clients, would it be compatible to place the mediafast before the mikrotik?
Thank You

Hello planet72,

Any updates, videos, or other internet traffic that is sent over https we are unable to cache at this time. You can still place the MediaFast 750 in drop-in mode, before the Mikrotik router, and this would still offer caching of some apps as well as some OS updates depending on the method of delivery.

Hi @planet72
You would definitely be able to use it for the scenario you have suggested.
I would recommend adding something like a BR1 on one of the other WAN for remote access for incase you main WAN goes down.
Having a MediaFast and only using one WAN is underutilising the equipment a bit!
Remember that the MediaFast will only cach http traffic unless you enable https and install the certificate on every end user device.
The MediaFast does give great statistics on how much the caching feature is been used.
