Thanks! Totally agree, it´s a pity, it looked like a great device…
we have on queue 6x MBX mini to be deployed and this will affect to those projects, we would need to look for alternatives. @mldowling do you have any update related to these issue? Is it affecting to all devices or just a few MBX minis? I read above it depends on the way that LAN connection is used, if I´m not wrong, could you extend that explanation?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Max, I have deployed hundreds of MBX and Mini devices around the world. I’m sorry your having issues and I would love to help you. If you want you can reach out to my team and I’d love to look at your router, config, and offer direct support. You can schedule a meeting by emailing sales at westnetworks.com or support at westnetworks.com and we can setup a review and escalate as needed. The MBX is one of my favorite routers.
Way ahead of you. I had Peplink ticket 23110785 open from November 2023 to December 2024 on this issue, and the only place we ended up getting to was “use 8.3.0s288” for now. I’m told by PL engineers that newer versions of the software were released and it helped the lockup issue some, but it still hasn’t been eradicated entirely on this particular device.
@Maxwell_Paine, my apologies for not keeping you posted and closing the ticket. I have re-opened the ticket and responded. Based on the feedback we have from the field, the fixes added to firmware 8.5.2 should address the issue.
We can follow up on the case via the support ticket if you are fine with it.
Thanks. I’ll fire mine back up and check out 8.5.2
@WeiMing I went to update my MBX and it indicates only 8.5.1 is available. Is 8.5.2 still pre-release? If so, when will it be GA?
Be sure to check the box that says “show beta releases” or similar.
Got it. I was updating through the web GUI and not via InControl, I was able to apply the beta firmware via IC2. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
