Hey;

Just playing with an openVPN licence… I can set up the WAN and get the whole network running through it with an enforced outbound policy…

But playing with the details… i see under the ADVANCED tab, there is openvpn profiles… if i save some here, i can enable or disable them… but it doesnt seem to do much? I would expect to then be able to choose which profile is used in the main WAN tab, but it doesnt show any of the saved profiles?
Am i missing something here?

Secondly; i tried setting an outbound policy for just one device via a MAC address; and then leaving the openWAN in connected standby… but not seeming to have much luck.
(Idea being just to have vpn running for the apple tv, and everything else does what it wants) Is this possible, am i missing a step here?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

The OpenVPN profiles under “Advanced” tab is for OpenVPN site-to-site connection which would import routes pushed from OpenVPN server.

The OpenVPN WAN under “WAN” tab is used to connect to the OpenVPN server but it would not import routes pushed from the server. You can use outbound policy to set the traffic to the OpenVPN WAN.

The profiles under “Advanced” and “WAN” tab is not shareable.

If you want to enforced a device’s traffic to OpenVPN WAN, the OpenVPN WAN should be in “Connected” state. You may submit a ticket for our investigation if the outbound policy doesn’t work.

Thanks,
Bryan
