Masquerading/SRC NAT to an external network

Hi,

the Balance One is terminating a PPPoE WAN connection behind a VDSL modem,
I would like to reach the management interface of the modem which is on the WAN side from the LAN.

Let’s say the modem as a local static address 192.168.4.1, but this address is not visible from the LAN as the PPPoE received address is something differnet
What’s the best way to do so?

On a different product I was assigning a 192.168.4.254 as an additional IP on the WAN interface and SRC Natting (or masquerading) the LAN, with static routing, to reach out this external network.

Is there a way to do so?
thanks

Create an outbound policy destination 192.168.4.1 type enforced and choose the WAN in question. That should do it.

You can enable PPPoE WAN management IP to manage your modem:
