Is it possible that a WAN port can go bad after a year and half?

I have a Balance 20 that has been working flawlessly for over a year and then a few weeks ago, WAN2 started reporting link down repeatedly then it will stop. A few days later it does the same thing again. Over the weekend it now says No Cable Detected.

I tested the cable and replaced both ends and cable tester reports it’s good. What I haven’t done is reboot the B20. I also plugged the other Ethernet cable into another switch and I see the link light up.

Any other way to check if the WAN port is indeed dead?

Thanks!

I would log a ticket with support and get them to review the diagnostics file for any obvious issues.

Thanks, I just submitted one.

I’m going on 23 hours with no reply to my support ticket. Do we still get reply for out of warranty devices? I’m tempted to buy a license key for WAN3 just to rule out that my WAN2 port is dead.

@eibyer, your case has been followed up with tech engineer.
