Does anyone know if I can use an iPad that is plugged into the USB of my Balance 20 as a cellular modem? There is an interesting bug with the iPad where you have unlimited data through the iPad but not through an iPhone. And I want to be able to utilize that. Any idea what the configuration is?
iPad does not support an ethernet signal out in any official capacity.
Android does on I think Android 4 and above and Peplink has official support.
The issue you will run into quite quickly is that it is still recognized by the carrier as hotspot data and will pull from those pools or not at all based on your plan. I’m in the US but I don’t know if this is true elsewhere. I know several MVNOs offer unlimited hotspot with a speed limit. The best afaik is Visible with 5Mbps as the cap.
