Has anyone successfully deployed an external wifi system with Peplink Captive Portal?

I can easily deploy it with using Peplink wifi, but I need to use it with other Wifi solutions. For example Aruba Instant On, they have their own Captive Portal system built in, but Peplink’s provides more features. It seems I need a different URL to set as ‘Server URL’ but I’ve been searching for it and can’t find it anywhere what should be set.

I have a VLAN setup with Captive Portal inside inControl and applied to my Balance 20X.

The server url I set is: http://captive-portal.peplink.com which relays to the LAN IP of the Balance 20X in that VLAN. But putting just this in Server URL is not working, there is no ‘pop-up’ to sign in. Do I need to add anything behind it?

Just tested on the wired connection set to the same VLAN and it worked directly. So have figured out how to set it up. The Captive Portal should not be configured on the SSID itself if you use an external Wifi system.

So it just needs to point to the correct VLAN and on the SSID side you shouldn’t filter the network/addressess it can access.
