How to fake/mock 2 sites on one router

I am a developer with a limited understanding of networking .

What I would like to do is create two ‘sites’ on different subnets (10.0.1.0/24 & 10.0.2.0/24) on one Peplink router. This is to work through any issues that we might find when the 2 sites are in 2 different locations linked by a PepVPN.

I tried creating a VLAN on the Peplink Router (10.0.2.1) and added a PC with a static IP 10.0.2.10. I can ping 10.0.2.1 but not 10.0.2.10 from a 10.0.1.* PC.

How do I get the 2 networks to talk as though they were on different routers connected by a PepVPN?

I have some 4 port routers that I could connect through like we use for our 192.168.. WiFi network. That, however, cannot access the main 10...* business network.

Apart from buying another router how can I mock up this <cough!> topology

Hello Gerry_King,

Under the VLAN settings, please check and make sure that you have Inter-VLAN Routing enabled. It sounds like you may have it disabled. You’ll need to make sure the check box is ticked.
