I want to purchase whatever the latest revision of the Balance 20X is, but the partner product description pages, such as those on 5Gstore and Amazon, don’t mention the version. The Cat 4 version ($550) costs $100 more on Amazon than it does on 5Gstore ($450). Is this because the one available through Amazon is a newer revision? Also on Amazon, the Cat 7 version ($650) costs $100 more than the Cat 4 version, but the Cat 7 version on 5Gstore ($550) costs the same as the Cat 4 version on Amazon?
Hi @Kevin_Smith . A couple of things to note: There is normally no difference in cost between hardware versions. Many “Partners” stock the products and when placing an order you may or may not get the latest HW version. FWIW, we take a different approach and we generally have such products drop-shiopped from our Peplink distributor. This approach is partly necessitated by our lower volume but also really helps to ensure the customer receives the very latest HW version. Larger Partners usually take a different approach. YMMV.
My 2nd point would be that you may be confusing HW versions with models. There are two models of the Balance 20X – one with a LTE modem and one with a LTEA modem. These are not differences in HW versions per se; they are different products! In the USA the BPL-021X-LTE-US-T-PRM model with CAT4 modem retails for $449; BPL-021X-LTEA-US-T-PRM with CAT7 modem retails at $549. So, when checking prices be certain to compare “apples to apples.” If this does not make sense of if you want ore information to help sort this out just send me a PM – I’ll be glad to talk to you by phone.
