Good Evening
We have be requested to put together a RFQ for a small government branch and the following is their criteria;
-The proposed solution must integrate seamlessly with Active Directory and MS Exchange server 2016. It must support single sign on user authentication
-The solution must be capable of immediately supporting 70 concurrent users and it must be scalable to support up to 140 users using mobile devices, i.e. tablets, notebooks, hybrids and Smartphones
- No problem. 140 users/ 16 APs = 8.75 users per AP. Pepwave recommend up to 60 users per radio (60 users x 16 APs = max recommend users = 960)
The solution must support a centrally configured and locally managed architecture
- Will require a IC2 instance onsite or Peplink Balance 30 LTE / Balance 210 to be the AP Controller. (replacement of gateway is not included in RFQ. Could a Peplink router be placed on the network and act as a wireless controller without traffic passing to the WAN or does it have to be the gateway?
The solution must support role based access
- can be supported from IC2 but not at a device level
The solution must support both seamless Layer 2 and layer 3 roaming services
- Does the 802.11r in Beta 7.1.1 cover this fully?
The solution must optimise use of Service Set Identifiers (SSIDs) to support the range of
network usage requirements, range of users along with necessary management and security
controls.
- Pepwave AP ONE Enterprise APs support up to 16 SSIDs per radio
The system must be WMM-certified by the Wi-Fi alliance
- I cannot find any reference more recent then 2012 regarding Peplink/Pepwave/Pismolabs relating to the Wi-Fi alliance
If anyone can add any info to the above points, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
