Gmail: Sign-in attempt prevented

Firmware: 6.3.0s026 build 3119

While attempting to configure Email Notification, following the steps outlined in the Peplink KB, I receive a “test failed” error whenever I click the [Send Test Notification] button:

Shortly after these test failures, I received an email from Google with the following security message:

Sign-in attempt prevented

Hi Jason,
Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account [email protected] from an app that doesn’t meet modern security standards

Is there a known workaround for this, or is there a firmware update in the works to address this issue?
