@mystery

Just tested and the “detail” page just loaded as expected. Do you tested with different browser ?

The fix of this issue will be included in next 8.0.1 firmware build.

yes i tried different browsers. no issues on 8.0. i submitted a ticket with video, diagnostic report, and left remote assistance on so techs could take a look but sounds like it could not be reproduced on peplink’s end despite it being 100% reproducible for me in beta 1, 2, and 3.

excellent. thank you.

Reference 20822 - [QoS] Added Youtube and Netflix applications
Could we please have these added to the protocols under “Outbound Policies”
We have the following situation - We run our clients over SpeedFusion to a data centre (10Gbps internet connection) but Netflix will not work as the data centres IP address are blocked by Netflix. We operate a second SpeedFusion link to our office for each client which has 600Mbps download and 65Mbps upload.
We would like to be able to direct just Netflix traffic to the SpeedFusion tunnel running through our office.

On some vessels, its not so much an issue because the Pepwave is the main router and we can manually direct the devices which need Netflix over the VPN to our office but our larger clients generally we are double NATing and see all their traffic coming from a single device so we would need to run all their traffic over our lower capacity tunnel as we can separate out the Netflix traffic.

Thank You

Hello @Lai & & @sitloongs & Peplink Team,
We have just noticed that the APN setting for the SIM slot B is missing from the cellular modules.

This image is from an SDX that we were getting ready with FW 8.0.1b03 build 1335 to demo with different carriers.

We rolled back to FW 8.0.0 build 1289, and the missing options reappeared.

Please let us know when fixed and we will again prepare for the demo.

When we saw this we verified some other models (these were OK):

  • MAX-HD4-MBX-LTEA-K (Pepwave MAX HD4 MBX LTEA) FW 8.0.1b03 build 1335
  • BPL-031-LTEA-P (Peplink Balance 30 Pro LTEA) FW 8.0.1b03 build 4313
  • MAX-BR1-LTE-E (Pepwave MAX BR1 LTE) FW 8.0.1b03 build 3553

Note: We have not verified if this option is missing from any other models yet.
Happy to Help,
Marcus

Thank you for always helping us on this.

Do you think you can arrange and turn on RA for the SDX for us to further check ?

Hello @sitloongs.
RA is on, I will PM you the serial number.

Hello @Lai & @sitloongs,
We are seeing another few issues that may be Firmware 8.0.1 Beta 3 related.

On a Balance 380 with FW 8.0.1b03 build 2671 we are seeing the client list showing the same device with multiple IPs, this is also seen within InControl2.

Router Capture #1

Router Capture #2
image

All these switches are Peplink SD-Switch 24 Port models with the latest public release of firmware of 1.2.1 build 227

A second issue we are finding is VLANs are not working correctly and that the SD-Switches and other devices are getting incorrectly assigned with the wrong VLAN as such wrong Subnet for the devices management and IC2 access.
InControl2 Capture #1

InControl2 Capture #2

Note that all these switches should be sitting in the Native VLAN, currently all other devices (including a dozen AP One WAPs) on the clients network are sitting in the correct VLANs & subnets.

Please PM us if you’d like more details and access to this clients system.

Hello @Lai & @sitloongs,
We would like to report what appears to be another issue we are seeing that may be related to Firmware 8.0.1 Beta 3 found on the MBX HD4 around the data usage logging and this not getting passed back to InControl2.

On Friday we upgraded a Pepwave MAX HD4 MBX LTEA (MAX-HD4-MBX-LTEA-K) to firmware 8.0.1b03 build 1335, since then the unit has stopped reporting the WAN data usage to InControl2 and when opening the remote web admin, the usage data is also missing.

Usage - Hourly as seen within InControl2

Usage - Daily as seen within InControl2

Usage - Hourly as seen within the Web Admin pages

Usage - Hourly as seen within the Web Admin pages

This router is sitting with over 60 people operating though it using large volumes of data for CAD, and Video Conferencing. We know it is chewing through the data yet this firmware is not reporting the usage.

As before, please PM us if you’d like more details and access to this clients system.

any ETA on the release of 8.0.1 ? thanks

Hello @Lai & @sitloongs,
There appears to be to a third issue we see that is related to Firmware 8.0.1 Beta 3 found on the MAX BR1 ENT around the saving of setting offered for the WAN connections.

Model: Pepwave MAX BR1 ENT LTEA
SKU: MAX-BR1-ENT-LTEA-P
Firmware: 8.0.1b03 build 4313

On previous firmware versions, the option to commit the settings showed “Save and Apply”

Now on 8.0.1 Beat 3, the firmware only shows “Save”, yet it immediately applies the settings.

The issue with this is that the behaviour when saving is different from what the rest of the system does when you choose save in that you get to select “Apply” (top right) before the changes are committed, giving you time to combine multiple changes if required to implement in one change process.

As before, please PM us if you’d like more details and access to this clients system.

@mystery, the 8.0.1 RC firmware is released! GA firmware will be released if the RC firmware works great.

The changes for the WAN of Max devices is applied immediately after you click the Save button (Clicking the Apply Changes button on the top corner is not necessary). This behavior is same for pre-8.0.1 beta firmware.

@mldowling, regarding the reported issue below:

We didn’t see the problem in our lab test. We are tested with post 8.0.1b03 firmware. Is it possible to test with 8.0.1RC?

I just had a problem with 8.0.1b3 where the Surf SOHO MK3 just dropped the Internet connection. I was able to connect to the web UI via browser, but that was it. I attempted to download the diagnostic report, but it looked like the Surf was hung. I rebooted back to 7.1.2 and pulled the diag report (attached here and appended with .log to upload)

Hello @Lai & @sitloongs & @TK_Liew,
We can confirm that the data usage monitoring appears to be working in the MBX HD4 with firmware version 8.0.1 build 3560 (Firmware 8.0.1 RC1).
