Feature Request - Better visual indication of PepVPN Status

Recently we have had a few instances of where for whatever reason PepVPN is unable to establish over some WAN links, typically this has been due to filtering in the upstream network providing those links.

PepVPN has as a result built its tunnels using the cellular modem(s) in the units, this itself is not a problem, the PepVPN was configured with all WANs as priority 1, however the WAN priority on the Peplink itself were configured so that the cell modems should only be used if the wired WAN had failed.

What I would like is better visual indication on the dashboard of the tunnel health / status when links that are in an “up” state are unable to be used for the PepVPN tunnel.

Example:

Dashboard and Ic2 shows WAN-1 is up and available as priority 1, cellular is in standby and PepVPN tunnels show as green indicating an “up” status.

However, when we go to look at the PepVPN detail status we see that the WAN-1 connection is unable to be used and the tunnel is in fact established over the cellular modem, to me this is a degraded state that is not immediately obvious to someone who looks at the main dashboard, or at the device details on Ic2 - they show the wired WAN as being available and it would be reasonable to expect that means the PepVPN is only established over it given it is a higher priority WAN.

Suggestion:

Provide an obvious visual representation on the dashboard and Ic2 that the PepVPN is being established in a degraded state, in this instance we would reasonably expect that as the WAN1 is up and Cell is in standby the PepVPN should be built via the WAN1 link, however it is being built via the Cell modem. If the WAN1 was down this would not be an unexpected situation.

+1. Its a good idea Will.
