We have several hundred Peplink MAX routers that are connected to the Peplink Balance hub router via PepVPN. The client router obtains its IP address from the DHCP server running on the balance router when VPN tunnel is established.
Every time we add or remove a new router, we have to create a static reservation on the DHCP server and add a DNS A record in order to make it accessible by dns name.
It would be nice to have a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) update feature for the IP addresses assigned by the DHCP server, so we would not need to manually add a static reservation or dns record.
Example:
Router1 connects by VPN to the hub router and obtains IP address 192.168.150.10. The IP dynamically registers on the company’s DNS server as router1.companydns.com.
