Dual band 5GHz and 2.4GHz for Surf SOHO?

Is this possible with a firmware update? If so, any chances of getting it?

I’m in an apartment building with 27 2.4Ghz networks in range. If someone nearby uses their microwave, the wireless cuts out due to the interference. Unfortunately, my Google Chromecast can only utilize the 2.4GHz band. All of my other devices can use the 5Ghz band… Right now, I have another router hooked up to the SOHO, which broadcasts on the 2.4GHz band so the Chromecasts can connect.

Hoping I can eventually dump the additional router and get everything working through the SOHO. I do have external antennae attached to the SOHO… can the device be configured to broadcast 5GHz on the external, and 2.4GHz on the internal?

The SOHO does offer dual band Wi-Fi capability, but it is selectable and not concurrent. There is no firmware available to turn it into concurrent dual band.

Gotcha. Was looking to be able to concurrently broadcast 2.4 and 5 GHz SSIDs. Thanks for the response.
