Bypass Vehicle ID when uploading Configuration File from Remote Web Admin

Hi,

I would like to submit a feature request in the remote web admin of the modem. Currently, there is a way that the vehicle id for GPS forwarding doesn’t change when a bulk configuration changes, As we have customers that have their own organization and has many devices enrolled, they don’t like to use the bulk config option because it’s too easy to accidentally do something to their entire fleet. It would be better if adding the vehicle id in the dashboard notes will bypass the Vehicled id when we upload the configuration file in the remote web admin as well.

Thanks,

Josephine

Do you mean you want to upload config file via InControl2’s Remote Web Admin and without making changes to vehicle ID? Do you think the solution here meets your requirement?

Hi,

Thanks, however, this is only applicable to the bulk configuration set up in Incontrol2. The customer is looking for a way to bypass the vehicle id when they upload a configuration file in the webui of the unit.

Thanks,
Josephine

Seem you are uploading the configuration via Local WebAdmin, why don’t you reset the Vehicle ID before you apply the new configuration to the device ?

Hi,

Yes, we are uploading the configuration via Local Web admin. We need to keep the current vehicle ID for GPS forwarding even if we upload a configuration file from another unit that has another vehicle ID.

I think @sitloongs provided the suggestion. Anyway, best way is using Bulk Configurator since your requirement is related to the Vehicle ID and this is supported by InControl2.

Thanks.
