I’ve been told by a couple users that the BR1-Mini now supports wansmoothing with the failover license. Can anyone confirm this? I have an NFR unit that I’m testing that doesn’t show it, it’s been suggested to me that I need to re-apply the license key but this was pre-loaded so I don’t have the key…
The failover license for the BR1 Mini gives you Load Balancing, PepVPN Hot Failover, WAN Smoothing, Ethernet and Wi-Fi WAN. You can open a support ticket with us here to investigate if there is an issue.
I’m cheating in this post. I can’t post this in it’s own thread for 14 hours but it’s actually relevant to the title so here goes!
I’m trying to get a BR1-Mini w/ failover license to have a seamless, no packets lost failover from WAN to CELL with wansmoothing.
I’ve set WAN and CELL to priority 1 in dashboard.
Outbound Policy set to priority with WAN then CELL
Speedfusion tunnel up with WAN Smoothing at Medium
SF WAN at priority 1
SF Cell at priority 2
The tunnel is up and the status on speedfusion shows the Cell as standby, dashboard shows both WAN and Cell up.
On FH Solo side. Speedfusion is set with Wan Smoothing at Medium.
Link failure detection is set to Extreme on both sides.
I’m running pings across the tunnel to the FH Solo’s IP at .25 second intervals. If I pull the WAN cable out of the BR1, I lose about 4-5 packets and then they start back up at the CELL’s latency.
I’m expecting this to immediately switch to the cell without losing any packets at all.
What am I doing wrong?
