BR1 Mini 5G with Sim Injector

I have a question regarding the Peplink SIM Injector. We recently installed a Peplink BR1 Mini 5G on a customer’s vessel. However, the modem is installed inside the antenna dome, and changing the SIM card on the Peplink can pose a safety risk, as it requires a technician to go up onto the mast and repeatedly open and close the housing.

I was reviewing the options and searching for possible solution with Sim injectors, Will that work with the BR1? If yes, can you let me know how we can connect the SIM injector to the modem? is this via LAN ? the BR1 Mini is currently powered up with PoE so is my understanding correct that we can simply replace the PoE with Sim Injector which will also act as PoE to Modem as well , any other additional configs we need to do ?

Hi Danish,

BR1 Mini 5G with Wi-Fi does support SIM Injector. In case your BR1 Mini version doesn’t have Wi-Fi then SIM Injector is not supported. You can find this information in the datasheet.

For most cases SIM Injector is connected to router LAN port, but there are multiple scenarios possible. You can find out more in this SIM Injector Manual.

Let us know if this helps.
