Br1 mini 5g - Packet loss on Local AP. Related to Wifi-Wan

Br1 Mini 5g
Should I expect that in these conditions I get packet loss on the local Acces Point AP?
-Speedfusion connect protect SFCP
-WIFI wan on Cellular
-WIFI Wan on & 2.4ghz . Disabled 5ghz wifi-wan.

  • Clients connected to local Access Point on 5ghz
  • I disabled any other SSID not required

If I plug into RJ45 port to SFCP there is no problem. It seems like packet loss is introduced whenever the wifi-wan client experiences instability. Even if I separate the frequencies. e.g. WIFI wan on 2.3ghz and Access Point on 5ghz.

If so, this means I need to buy another access point/router for the AP.

Disappointingly I find that even with both the WIFI Wan radios disabled, I still get latency spikes on the AP.
As tested against
-rj45 cable - you’d think this means radio interferance, but :
-using another low-tech wifi 4, 2.4ghz wifi router plugged into the Peplink via rj45 as this does not get the spikes.
I even tried disabling all SSIDs except the one I was connected to in case there were broadcast frames causing a problem.

Could regional settings be an issue? I’m currently testing in Spain. Unit is set to USA although changing it makes no difference.

thanks!

Hi, @Robert_S

Have you try to limit the channel to 20Mhz?

Thank you I tried this but it made no difference.
I switched to 20mhz and on a clear channel. The previous auto setting was on 80mhz and all channels were clear too. . I switched half way through this time chart. I don’t get problems connecting to my phone’s wifi hotspot on 5ghz and I have tried both 2.4 and 5ghz AP modes on the peplink
