I love it. Almost forgot about that feature. Except it would cost $1000/mo per vehicle and the antenna is half the size of a police interceptor trunk lid. No departments we work with would ever approve it.
We do a lot of work with public safety clients. I’ve never had a client that had any form of system which could use vehicle built-in telematics (and most police and fire vehicles don’t come from the factory with it either). All their AVL systems are setup to get their GPS position from the vehicle network, which the peplink Mini’s are outstanding at providing, so we sell a ton of them. That’s why it’s such a disappointment to finally get a 5G wifi Mini, and then have GPS axed from it.
