I have Peplink Dome Pro Duo with 2 E-sim (both SIMs from one operator T-mobile). When I can use bonding to VPN (SpeedFusion) and I setup Outbond Policy for VPN - algorithm “Priority”, I have worse resulting throughput values because under load there is a latency difference between SIMs of about 200 ms (probably because the same operator transmitter is used at the same time)
What is the most appropriate Bonding setting to use the sum of both SIMs from the same operator?
If you’re using two modems with one ISP, it’s important to lock each one to different frequency bands. Otherwise, they will almost certainly end up sharing the same band, which will reduce performance compared to using a single modem.
Even when you do separate them onto different bands, keep in mind that the cellular tower itself may still have limited uplink capacity. In that case, the available bandwidth can still be shared between your connections.
For the best results, use directional outdoor antennas for each modem and aim them at different cell towers. That way, you reduce contention and maximize the benefit of having multiple connections.
