Asking again here as I don’t see any response in the beta thread:

Is Synergy mode intended to allow the GPS on a 5G adapter to be used by a B One directly? I don’t see that this is working if so. Also GPS forwarding does not seem to work either (5G → B one).

I’m running the 2.1.0 beta on my 5G Adapter. Trying to upload this new firmware results in an error “Request Entity Too Large”. Any suggestions?

Did you find a fix for this? I can’t upgrade to the stable 2.10 firmware from 2.0.3

Nope I’m stuck at this point still. Sadly no one from Peplink has responded to my comments and questions about this firmware in multiple posts.

@Steven_Joerger - I finally got the adapter to upgrade, adding what failed and finally works incase it helps with troubleshooting.

Failed attempts:
Requesting upgrades via the UI
Scheduling upgrade via InControl
Local file upload connecting through the orbit 8 proxy to the local 5g adapter UI via Safari on Mac OS
Local file upload connecting through the orbit 8 proxy to the local 5g adapter UI via FireFox on Mac OS

Success
Local file upload by connecting directly to UI (not through Orbit 8 proxy) via Chrome.

@Steven_Joerger & @chaerd,

We may have missed this. So sorry about that.

I’ll review what @chaerd posted and provide an update shortly.

I just tried using Chrome to upload a downloaded firmware file and it failed for me with the same error as before “Request Entity Too Large”. This is going directly to the Adapter which is synergized to my router.

@Steven_Joerger , May I know the 5G adapter firmware version running for your device ? I suppose Synergy mode is support start with firmware 2.1.0.

1. I tested the firmware upgrade using IC2 Firmware Management, and the upgrade was successful.
Please refer to the logs below:

2. I tested the upgrade using the Firmware Check option, and the upgrade was successful.

3. I tested the upgrade by direct connect to the LAN port and access the WebAdmin Page and the upgrade was successful.** | Manual Upgrade

  1. Via a Another Peplink device proxy option (Device is connected to WAN2 for another router)
  • The upgrade expected to have issue as there was a restriction for the firmware size via the proxy access.
  • The Engineering team still working for the feasible fix for this.
  1. Via IC2 Remote Webadmin (RWA) accessing the 5G Adapter
  • The upgrade expected to have issue as there was a restriction for the firmware size via IC2 RWA
  • The Engineering team still working for the feasible fix for this.

For now, we suggest using one of the methods listed in items 1 to 3 above to perform the firmware upgrade.

If you still encounter any issues with the upgrade, please create a support ticket so that the Support team can investigate further:

My 5G adapter is running fw-adp_dngl-5gy-2.1.0b01-build1040. I realize there isn’t much difference between this version and the final released version. However the firmware upgrade process should still work.

I’ve tried option 2 and option 4 to upgrade to the final 2.1.0 release. Using option 2 (firmware check button) says no firmware update available. Using option 4 as I’ve mentioned above results in “Request Entity Too Large”

I’m willing to try option 3, but I’m not sure what happens with the synergy config when I switch from wan to lan port on the router.
