8.3.0 and ZTE USB 4g modem

Since I installed 8.3.0 on a Balance 20X build 5315 the ZTE USB 4G modem keeps saying it is ‘Connecting’.
Before, on older firmware version, it worked like a charm.
I tried changing all relevant settings for this WAN-EXT (reboot, even DNS settings) but nothing helped so far.
Any suggestions how to solve this?

This issue has been perfectly solved by Peplink support.

This is EXACTLY the same issue I have with my MAX Adapter. What was done to solve the “connecting” issue please?

Sorry I’ve no idea what they changed via the ‘Remote Assistance’ option.
I think the fix will appear in an update soon.

Hi,

have you set the USB to the right mode?

WAN-EXT is normally for USB to Ethernet Adapter

Thank you, Peplink support have discovered a ver 8.3 bug causing the “rolling connecting” via the MAX Adapter attached to the Balance Two router. Works with ver 8.2.1 sw. I’m now told Engineering is writing or re-writing sw to resolve the issue.

Don’t know what (and engineering hadn’t changed the 8.3 ver sw) occurred but the FirstNet cell data Sim A slot is now working (5G) on the MAX Adapter USB connected to the Balance Two. All I did when rebooting under 8.3 was disconnect USB for about 30 seconds and the reconnecting. Strange!
